SENIOR EVENT PRODUCER/EVENT PRODUCER

As we expand our conference portfolio, we require Event Producers at both management and senior management level, to develop high quality, multi-stream agendas based on sound research and a clear understanding of the dynamics of the subject matter.

Essential Skills and Qualities

  • Individuals who are driven by results and aim to succeed.
  • Experience in producing commercial conference programmes and acquiring top level speakers.
  • Sound understanding of the commercial realities of both small and large-scale events.
  • Excellent research skills with a forward- thinking commercial focus.
  • Good project management skills and an ability to multi-task.
  • Cultural awareness in diverse geographical locations.
  • Experience in Asia, South America and the US is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of the maritime, offshore and energy industries is an advantage, but not essential.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Responsibility for multiple large-scale events as well as new event launches.
  • Creating high quality, multi-stream agendas and attracting senior level buy-side speakers as well as services or technology providers and associations.
  • Undertake research at all stages of the event development cycle for presentation to senior management.
  • Work to a fixed event production cycle that engages all the relevant stakeholders both internally and externally, including advisory panels, sales and marketing and in-house content experts in the relevant subject matter.
  • Work with the in-house data team to identify the relevant contact data required for both audience acquisition and commercial opportunities.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of the event development and production process as part of the wider strategic objectives for the business.
  • Travel nationally and internationally to research and develop the successful deliver of events in your portfolio.

IN-HOUSE PRODUCTION EDITOR

This is an outstanding opportunity for a trained journalist with proven editing and writing skills to join a dynamic publisher with a growing fleet of market leading and internationally respected publications and websites.

Our expansion in print and online means we require an in-house Production Editor capable of managing editorial workflows to exacting standards and agreed deadlines using our Content Management System (CMS).

You will work closely with the Head of Content, Executive Editor and Online News Editor as well as cross-departmentally and with in-house and external writers, subs and proofs.

Essential Skills and Qualities

  • Trained journalist with proven editing and writing skills in print and online.
  • Ability to follow and contribute to editorial and production guides.
  • Results-orientated team player.
  • Excellent understanding of what works online including:
    • An ability to quickly identify what content is working well in an industry sector, and the key topics trending.
    • An ability to understand and deep dive into online data to gain actionable insights.
    • Ability to join the dots between different content and see how it might be usefully re-purposed on another Riviera site.
    • An ability to see which content formats are getting the most traction within a topic area.
    • An ability to craft headlines and content so that our websites and magazines are our readers first port of call. We want our articles to be the most shared online throughout the sector/s they are reporting on.
    • Ability to work under pressure and deal confidently, comfortably and tactfully with editors, other departments and external suppliers.
    • An affinity and enthusiasm for the subject matter.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Managing the flow of all editorial content through the company’s CMS to agreed standards and deadlines.
  • Sub-editing content. This includes verifying the content matches the brief; is well-structured, error free and to required standards.
  • Ensuring content meets the highest cyber hygiene standards. Postings will be edited with SEO, google ranking, online analytics and key word considerations in mind.
  • Liaising with the editorial team, other internal departments as well as external suppliers.
